How to import WACC and My Portfolio CSVs from MeroShare

DhanSutra can fill your portfolio from MeroShare exports so you do not type every lot by hand. You need two CSV files: the My WACC report (cost and quantity) and the My Portfolio / Shares values report (what you currently hold). Filenames often look like wacc.csv and myportfolio.csv (or similar) after you download them.

Part A — Export from MeroShare

1. Sign in to MeroShare

Open the official MeroShare web or app and sign in with the demat account you want to sync.

2. Download My Portfolio CSV

1. Open the My Portfolio tab.
2. Tap More, then Download CSV.
3. Save the file on your phone (Files, Downloads, or Drive). This is the shares / balance report DhanSutra labels as Shares values.

3. Prepare and download My WACC CSV

1. Open More → My Purchase Source and confirm every stock’s purchase source is verified. Incomplete sources can make WACC incomplete.
2. Open My WACC.
3. Tap More, then Download CSV.
4. Save it next to your portfolio CSV. This is the WACC report (often named like wacc.csv).

Part B — Import into DhanSutra

1. Open DhanSutra and sign in.
2. Go to the Portfolio tab.
3. Tap Import from CSV (or the import / upload icon in the app bar).
4. Choose your WACC CSV first, then your Shares / My Portfolio CSV.
5. Review the preview: how many positions will import, any symbols only in one file, and quantity mismatches if the exports are from different days.
6. Tap Import to portfolio.

When quantities differ between the two files, DhanSutra uses WACC figures for the import and shows a warning so you can re-export matching reports if needed.

What a valid file looks like

Keep the CSVs as MeroShare exported them (do not rename columns). Typical headers:

• WACC: S.N, Demat, Scrip Name, WACC Calculated Quantity, WACC Rate, Total Cost of Capital, Last Modification Date
• Shares / My Portfolio: S.N, Scrip, Current Balance, Last Closing Price, Value as of Last Closing Price, LTP, Value as of LTP

Files must end with .csv. Export both from the same demat on the same day when possible so symbols line up.

Common issues

• “No symbols appear in both CSVs” — wrong demat, or one file is outdated. Re-download both.
• Header does not match — you opened a different report, or edited the file in Excel and changed column names.
• WACC symbols skipped — they are not in the Shares export (sold, or not on that report).
• File picker / plugin errors — fully restart the app after install; avoid relying on a half-updated build.
